Coach: Todd Davis
21-22 Record: 5-17
Last season did not go the way that the Lady Bulldogs had hoped that it would. After ending with a 5-17 record, they enter this new season with youth and promise. First-year head coach Todd Davis says that he expected to see significant improvement and has confidence in his squad this season. “We are a young team with only one senior and two juniors,” coach Davis stated. “I believe this season can be a successful one. These girls should improve in the win column this year from past years. I believe this group can and will accomplish more than expected.”
The lone senior on this season’s squad is Mackenzie Turner (Sr.). She will be key to the team’s success and is going to be able to score and protect the rim with her height. She is expected to have a solid season and her teammates will look to her for leadership on and off the court. Taylor Malone (Jr.) and Jasmine Chandler (Jr.) and the juniors on the squad and are expecting to make big contributions also. Malone is a shooting guard and has the potential to score 15-20 points a game. She can handle the ball well, she is fast, and can play good defense. She will be a key player for Cement this season. Chandler will play as hard as she can for as long as she is out there. She is a fierce competitor and will do anything she can to win. She does a lot of things that do not end up on the stat sheet. She is a great screener, a good passer, and plays with all her heart.
One of the younger players that will look to play a role this year will be Heaven Ladymon (So.). Ladymon can shoot the basketball very well. Her teammates will be looking to get her open three-point shots this season. She can make multiple threes a game and that will be an important part of the team’s success. Other Lady Bulldogs to keep an eye on this season will be Miley Turner (So.), Heavyn Autaubo (So.), Tymber Malone (Fr.), Addisyn Hoofard (Fr.), Paisley Gaines (Fr.), Carlie Foster (Fr.), Breonna Chaney (Fr.), and Jolanea Clawson (Fr.).
