Anadarko’s Chloe Cantrell – Presented by Bank of Commerce

Chloe Cantrell is a powerhouse on the basketball court.

Cantrell is a senior who plays for Anadarko High School. She is mainly a shooting guard, but has had success playing wherever she’s needed.

Cantrell’s love for basketball began when she was young. She shares that basketball has always been a big part of her life, and she can trace much of her involvement in basketball back to her mom.

“My mom was the assistant basketball coach for Anadarko since I was younger so I really grew up in the gym, Cantrell says. “I have always loved the game.”

Growing up watching basketball led Chloe to start playing at the young age of 5, and she has not turned back since. Chloe shared that in her many years of playing basketball, she has grown to most enjoy the competitiveness of the sport. She also enjoys how fast-paced the game is.

“I like how it is a non-stop sport. One moment you’re on defense and then the next you’re on offense,” Cantrell says.

In her many years playing basketball, Chloe has learned valuable lessons that have allowed her to grow both as an athlete and a person.

“The biggest lesson I have learned,” Cantrell says, “is that you have to be mentally tough, always. It’s not always going to go your way in the game so you have to stay composed and keep going.”

For the future basketball players and athletes, Chloe offers advice: “Some advice I would tell future players is that you have to put in work and have dedication. Nothing is going to be given to you.”

Cantrell has been dedicated and has worked hard all throughout her basketball career, and it is clear that the basketball senior has made a mark on Anadarko athletics.
