2023-2024 Ninnekah Owls Basketball Preview – Presented by The First National Bank & Trust Co.

NINNEKAH OWLS

Coach: Wes Pulliam

22-23 Record: 10-15

A pair of seniors will lead the Owls of Ninnekah this season as head coach Wes Pulliam is coming off a 10-15 season. Now in his second season, Pulliam will look to JJ Jerdee and Eli Brake for most of the production.

“The Ninnekah Owls are ready to make a statement this year with their two seniors JJ Jerdee and Eli Brake. JJ averaged 25 points per game last year and is the go-to scorer for the Owls as well as a tremendous defender. Eli Brake picks up the slack in the scoring department as he averaged 16 points per game last year and has improved over the summer,” said Pulliam.

The month of December was a successful one for the Owl, as they picked up nine wins to only three loses. Jerdee has averaged 28 points a game during that stretch. Other players have picked up their game as well.

Players like Travis Sullivan, Gentry Drennan, Jared Butler, Jeremiah Downey-Black, and Malachi Brown are playing well and helping this team on both ends of the court.

Defense has been a big reason the Owls are off to a great start. In the month of December, the Owls held five opponents to 36 points or less and outscored teams 775-539.

While they are not currently ranked in the Top 20 in Class A, their schedule is favorable for the success to continue and should find themselves in the rankings and poised for a run in post season play.
