MINCO BULLDOGS
BOYS
Coach: Cache Hill
2022-23 Record: 18-8
Ninth-year Minco boys coach Cache Hill brings back an impressive roster and looks to make yet another deep Bulldogs basketball postseason run. Reed McMurtrey (6-1, Sr.) is one of the most anticipated returning players in the conference. He tallied 9.2 points, 3.2 steals and 5.7 rebounds a night for the Bulldogs as a junior. “Great athlete and has started for 3 years for the Bulldogs. Great defender,” Hill said of McMurtrey. Ashton Taylor (6-2, Sr.) brings experience to the interior on both ends of the floor.
Taylor grabbed 7.1 rebounds per game as a junior. Riley Beck (6-4, Jr.) boasts unique positional height in small-school basketball and dropped 6.2 points per contest on opposing teams as only a sophomore a year ago. Fellow junior Caiden Brown (5-9, Jr.) scored 4.7 points per game last year. Spectators should get to know Jose Martinez (So.) for his expected contributions to the team this year. “[Martinez] does all the little things right. Extremely hard worker and will be the glue that keeps us together,” Hill said. The Bulldogs open the season Dec. 1 at Garber and open at home Dec. 5 against Cashion. They’ll play in the Bulldog Classic on Dec. 7-9; the 3-Rivers Tournament on Jan. 4-6; and the Grady County Tournament on Jan. 15-20.
