CYRIL PIRATES
BOYS
Coach: Shane McLemore
2022-23 Record: 20-7
Fifteenth-year Cyril boys coach Shane McLemore knows what success looks like. The tenured leader, who led the Pirates to a state championship in 2019, might have a young team, but there’s nobody Cyril supporters would rather have manning the program. “[We have a] young team, with a good sophomore point guard, Nash Harmon,” McLemore said. “Have a senior starting forward back from last year, Ayden Martin, that will be big. Should be a pretty good team at the end of the season.”
Harmon (6-0, So.) is the real deal. “Six-foot guard that can get to the rim, shoot the jump shot, and also a good 3-point shooter. He is also a good defender. Had 41 points in season opener,” McLemore said. Logan Lawrence (Sr.) “plays hard and does the little stuff” and will be a crucial presence on the floor posting up and grabbing rebounds. The Pirates play their homecoming match Dec. 1 against Sterling. They’ll play in the Minco Tournament on Dec. 7-9; the Longhorn Classic on Jan. 4-6; and the Caddo County Tournament on Jan. 15-20.
