Healdton’s Brynli Tucker – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Owens Insurance Agency

By Derrick Smith

Athletes work hard and train to be the best they can be when their season begins. While their work is important, they also have to depend on their teammates to put in the time preparing as well. Brynli Tucker says that success is dependent on the team working well together and having great chemistry.

“In order to be successful in sports it takes teamwork,” she stated. “I know that with my team personally we have faced many adversities this year already whether it be illness, injuries, or just personal life problems. But no matter what happens, when it’s game time we still have to go out and perform. So many people have stepped up and made plays when needed and I’m extremely proud of them. We are a very young team this year and some might see that as a weakness but there is just something different about these freshmen. They bring an energy and positivity that is just unmatched. I’ve never felt more confident about my team.”

Tucker attends Healdton High School, where she is a senior. She is a multisport athlete for the Bulldogs, playing at forward on the basketball court and third base on the softball field. She has played both sports for about fourteen years.

Throughout the span of her career, Tucker has made some great memories and accumulated some memorable moments with her teammates. But out of all of them, she says that there is one that stands out the most.

“By far the most fun I’ve had playing basketball would have to be the championship game of the 2020 Bulldog Bash versus the Fox Foxes.” she stated. The game ended up going into overtime and I think we won by about three. I have never experienced an atmosphere like that. The stands were overflowing and it was so loud we couldn’t even hear Coach Phillips yelling at us on the court. I was later named MVP of the tournament. It was a game I’ll remember forever and I’m sure my teammates would say the same.”
