Ardmore’s Andrew Carpenter – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Henry Roberts Express Pharmacy

Andrew Ryan Carpenter, an Ardmore High School junior, has made quite the impression on his coaches and the players around him.

“Andrew is a part of a talented junior class that we have. His ceiling is one of the highest on the team! As a sophomore last year, [it] was his first year back playing due to covid and injuries! He did not disappoint! He hit .300 with two home runs; which came in the same game,” Ardmore head coach CJ Kennedy said. “Over the summers I work with college kids that are MLB Prospects and his swing could hit right in the mix! The first time I saw him swing last year, I told the past head coach that he has it and he hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential! He has had a great fall and I can’t wait to see how he does this spring.”

Andrew’s two-home-run and grand-slam performance was his favorite game of his career. Knowing that his teammates and coaches can count on him means a lot to Carpenter, a seasoned player.

“It feels good because there is a lot of work that goes into getting that trust,” Andrew said.

He has been a dedicated baseball player for the majority of his life. Starting the game at age 4 Andrew has had a lot of time to perfect his craft. Not only is Andrew excellent up at bat, but he plays the position of first and third base as well as being a relief pitcher.

“My favorite part of baseball would be being able to share the field with my friends and making memories that will last forever,” said Andrew.

Starting baseball so young also gave Andrew the opportunity to grow and learn more than just skills on the field but also ones that he will carry with him the rest of his life. Not only does the game of baseball mean a lot to Andrew, but his team means even more.

“Baseball has taught me how to deal with failure and the importance of hardwork,” Andrew said. “My team means everything to me because we have grown up playing together. They are my family.”

Spring season is in full swing and this season Andrew has already set the tone.

“My goal for spring ball is to win, of course, and see how far we can go,” Andrew said.
