It’s an exciting time for the Ardmore Lady Tigers as basketball season approaches After a challenging season that saw them finish with a 6-14 record, the Lady Tigers are determined to come back stronger and more resilient. Coach Ryan Smith, who is entering his second year with the Ardmore High School program, brings a fresh perspective and an emphasis on growth and development.

The team’s outlook for this season is clear: they are in a phase of rebuilding, with their eyes set on improvement and establishing a foundation for future success. The Lady Tigers has several underclassmen returning, and they are brimming with potential and talent. They acknowledge that the road to success starts with teamwork and trust. “They have a lot to not only prove to others, but also to themselves,” Smith said. “We believe in them, but they have to believe in one another.” Destinee McGee (5-6, Jr.) is a returning, versatile player who can play all positions on the floor. Her ability to create scoring opportunities, coupled with her strong defensive presence, makes her a standout player. Kierra Dorsey (5-11, Jr.), a leader both on and off the court, is a unique player with a wide skill set. She can shoot, drive to the basket, rebound effectively and defend on the perimeter and in the paint. Josie Coe (5-6, So.) is a promising underclassman, operating as a true point guard. Her ball-handling skills, ability to penetrate defenses and shooting accuracy make her a player to watch. Alivea Pettigrew (5-3, Jr.) is also a dominant player known for her ball-handling and shot-making abilities. Pettigrew can control the flow of the game, making her an asset on both ends of the court. Rounding out the impact players for Ardmore, Milana Vance-Marshall (5-9, Jr.) is a strong center who excels in rebounding, both offensively and defensively. Vance-Marshall’s tenacity and scoring ability in the paint are key components of the team’s success.
