Snyder High School’s Joslyn Galvan is a multi-sport athlete and a member of the FFA chapter at school. Galvan joined FFA at the first opportunity she was given.
“I first got involved with FFA during my eight grade year. My brother Jervon Galvan was the one who encouraged me. I enjoyed helping him feed his animal’s and watched him work them when he was showing,” said Galvan.
As a member of the chapter, Galvan serves as treasurer while showing livestock and participating in other activities with the group.
“I enjoy being around the animals and learning about them, I also enjoy learning about agriculture past, present, and future. I am the treasure of my chapter, I show, I livestock judge, and I also do speech,” said Galvan.
Showing livestock is something Galvan loves to do.
“I am showing a Wether Hamp named Waylon and a Dorset Ewe named Loretta both are show lambs,” said Galvan.
Also a member of STUCO, and gifted and talented, Galvan is a four-sport athlete playing fast and slow pitch softball, basketball, and cheer in her freshman year. As a member of the cheer team, Galvan said she loves the relationships she has built with her teammates.
“The relationships I build with my peers, the cheer competitions, and making fun memories, and building lifelong friendships. Working hard as a team, encouraging, and supporting each other, and making fun memories is what I love the most,” said Galvan.
A big influence in her life are her brothers.
“My older brother’s Jagger Jones, Jarred Galvan, and Jervon Galvan. They have taught me to work hard and never give up, to pursue what I want and to have courage and be kind,” said Galvan.
