Navajo’s Emry Solis – Presented by Chad Lee State Farm

VYPE: What grade are you in this year and what sport(s) are you playing this semester?
 Solis: I am a senior this year. We are finishing up basketball and heading into slow-pitch. 
 VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete?
 Solis: I love the sport because it has given me so many family memories especially with my dad who coached me every day until he couldn’t. It is also great to see your second family at practice every day and our team is very blessed to have the best coaches.
 VYPE: Tell me what you love most about your team and teammates?
 Solis: The memories we have made, and the joy we have for the game.
 VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs or groups at school?
 Solis: Livestock show team, National Honors Society, basketball team, fast pitch and slow pitch softball teams. 
 VYPE: What are you looking forward to the most this season and what position do you play?
 Solis: I am looking forward to my last playoff run with my teammates and hoping it will end at the state tournament. I play 1st base.
 VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
 Solis: Attend nursing school and becoming a hospice nurse.
 VYPE: What area of your game do you believe is improving the most coming into the new season?
 Solis: Life has prepared me to be the most mentally tough I can be this season.
 VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school, and do you have a favorite teacher?
 Solis: Ag and my favorite teachers are Mrs. Tucker and Coach Goodson.
 VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life?
 Solis: My mom she has been a great example of being mentally strong going through tough times and loving me more than I could imagine.
