Throughout high school students’ lives, they have many people who can influence them. Classmates, family, celebrities, professional athletes, and so on. But it is up to the student whom they let be the biggest influences on them. Dallas Sanchez says that his biggest role models are those that are the closest to him. 

“I think the biggest influences for me are my family,” he stated. “They want me to succeed at anything I do and they are always there for me and supporting me.” 

Dallas is a sophomore at Navajo High School. He plays basketball and baseball for the Indians, and he is also a member of the National Honor Society. 

As a guy that plays multiple sports, Sanchez does not really get a break. He is continually putting in the work to get ready for the next season. But he keeps himself focused by remembering what he is working towards. 

“You have to be willing to work in order to reach your goals,” he said. “You also have to be dedicated to continuing to get better. My goal is to win a state championship and that is what I am always working towards.” 

The Navajo head boy’s basketball coach, Kale Thompson, says that while Dallas is just a sophomore he has the potential to be an impact player this season. 

“Dallas is a hard worker,” the coach said. “He has a skilled offensive mind and can shoot from inside the half-court line. Though he is a sophomore, I am looking for him to have multiple games where he scores over 20 points. He is poised to have a breakout year.” 

After he graduates from high school, Sanchez has his eye on what the next chapter holds. 

“My plan after high school is to continue my education in college and to continue my baseball career there.”
