Hollis High School junior Morgan Robinson has a passion for cheerleading. Being a cheerleader for the past 5 years, Morgan currently cheers for two sports: football and basketball.
There are many aspects of cheerleading that Morgan enjoys, but helping set the energy for the game is what Morgan considers her biggest highlight
“My favorite part about cheerleading is being able to turn the mood around during games, and getting the boys pumped up,” Robinson said.
When it comes to a favorite memory regarding cheerleading, there’s one event, held annually, that Morgan enjoys the most.
“My favorite memory from cheerleading is when we go to cheer camp in the summer at Weatherford and stay the night,” Robinson said. “It is a good way for us to bond and do fun things together as a team!”
Asked who has influenced her the most, Morgan looks toward family.
“My mom has definitely influenced and inspired me the most. Her drive and motivation for everything in life is incredible, and she is always putting others first,” Robinson said.
Faith plays an important part in Morgan’s life. Her favorite athlete is Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo because he is “open about his Christianity and isn’t afraid to stand up for what he believes in.”
After graduating from Hollis High School, Morgan has some big plans.
“After high school, I plan on attending Oklahoma State University and majoring in multidisciplinary studies and pre-law,” Robinson said.
Besides cheering on the sidelines, there are other activities that Morgan enjoys.
“Besides cheerleading, I also love to play softball and basketball. In my free time, I love going to concerts and shopping,” she said.
