The school that parents decide to put their child in can play a big role in their future. And in most cases, the community also plays a big role in their life. Leticia Nunez and her family live in Altus and she says that she could not ask for a better place to be a part of.
“One thing I truly love is that we are a tight knit community and school,” she said. “We fill the stands to support all of the kids no matter whose kid they are or what sport they play. We will be there cheering them on. We look out for and take care of each other as sports parents. If a parent can’t make it to an event they don’t worry because they know their child is being taken care of by us mom’s and coaches. We take care of all the kids as if they were our own. I am proud to say as Bulldog wrestling mom, we really are a family.”
Leticia has one son, Conner Nunez and she is very proud of all of his accomplishments.
“Conner is a senior this year,” she stated. “He wrestles and plays tennis. He is student body president of Altus high school. He volunteers his free time to coach the younger generation of Altus Bulldog wrestlers. He just got accepted into Oklahoma State University and he will be attending college there next year.”
Leticia does her best to be involved in Conner’s athletic events and help whenever she can.
“I stay involved by always being there at every dual, match, tournament and event,” she said. “Also by fundraising, feeding, and carpooling the kids. I volunteer my time for anything the wrestlers and coaches need. I also volunteer my photography services to the athletes and parents so they will always have these memories to look back on.”
When she is not supporting Conner, Leticia is a realtor for United Country Exploration Realty in Altus. She says that she enjoys spending her free time with her family. She also enjoys photography, hiking, and camping.
