GIRLS
Coach: Chad Walker
22-23 Record: 7-16
It’s a good mix for the Lady Bulldogs coming into the 2023-24 season. Coach Chad Walker is in his first season at the helm of the girl’s program, and he’s excited to see where this team can go. “We will have a mix of freshmen through seniors playing for us this year. It will be tough going with the district we have been assigned. But working hard on fundamentals, we hope to turn things around,” said Walker.
Parish Norfleet (Sr.) will start at guard where her range as a shooter and ability to play defense will prove crucial for Altus. “Parish would like to play at the next level. She handles the ball well, and is a good mid-range shooter,” said Walker. Being a smart player on the defensive end of the court is essential. Hayden Castillo (Fr.) is a young player with big potential. Castillo shoots the ball well and according to coach Walker, brings excellent speed to the court. The combination of Norfleet and Castillo could spell trouble for opposing teams. As the remainder of the roster fills out, coach Walker and his staff that include Sarah Daniels, is looking forward to getting this team to play sound, fundamental basketball and take their shots when they present themselves. Look for this team to work hard on the defensive end of the court and create their own opportunities by playing with controlled intensity.
