ALTUS BULLDOGS
BOYS
Coach: Todd Whittemore
22-23 Record: 8-15
In his second season at Altus, head coach Todd Whittemore is ready to take on a new district schedule and expects the Bulldogs to be very competitive. One reason for the optimism is the return of Gavyn Shive (6-7, Jr.). Shive started every game as a sophomore at center and is expected to do the same this season. He is developing into one of the top centers in the class. Marquis Milton (5-10, So.) is an exciting young player who was selected as MVP of the Shortgrass Classic Tournament last season as a freshman.
Jace Helton (6-4, Sr.) is considered the hardest worker on the team. Helton brings leadership by example to the floor for the Bulldogs. Other seniors include Braylon Madison (6-0) and Mason Willey (5-9), both of which should see good minutes this season. A pair of big juniors are poised for big years. Carmile Fisher (6-6), and Alejuandro Vizuete (6-4) give coach Whittemore options in the paint. Other players to watch include Eli Taylor (6-2, So.), Kashton Lamb (6-1, So.), Cole Osborne (6-0, So.), and Levi Hunter (6-5, Fr.). The assistant coaches are Jordan Boone and Robert Collins. Team managers are Elizabeth Risinger and Zoe Tapia. Look for the Bulldogs to continue improving on the 8-15 season they had a year ago as the team adjusts to district play.
