Altus’ boys soccer team has six returning starters from last year’s team.
A few freshmen are stepping into the vacant positions, head coach Jaime Reyna said.
Fourth-year starter Alan Chavez “has a great work ethic and leads by example.” He’s the Bulldogs’ veteran.
Freshman Esteban Rodriguez is one of the freshmen who will be a new face, but a vital one, for Altus.
“[Rodriguez] will see significant playing time at the midfield position,” Reyna said.
Alan Lerma is a bonding presence in the locker room.
“He [Lerma] is well-liked by his team,” Reyna said. “Everything he does is to the best of his ability.”
