Altus head baseball coach Jonathon Lamb says he is excited for the future of Altus’ baseball program.
Four seniors who helped see the Bulldogs through a 19-17 record last spring return a year older and a year more experienced.
Hunter Meyers leads the pack. The senior plays first base and catcher and is the Bulldogs’ ace on the mound.
“As a pitcher, he [Meyers] has very good movement on multiple pitches and has good command. Hunter has a good pop time with a good arm and will also see time behind the plate this year,” Lamb says. “Hunter is one of the best fielding first basemen I’ve had. He bats in the middle of the lineup and has good wheels around the bases.
The Bulldogs are also expecting big contributions from their underclassmen.
“We have a lot of young players that I have personally watched or coached during summer ball that will make an impact,” Lamb says.
