Eisenhower sophomore point guard Kelsey Simien told VYPE in an interview that she spends her time both on and off the court working on her mental and physical discipline. Which includes “going to the gym and working out as well as getting shots up even when she doesn’t feel like it”.
Simien looks up to her sibling for inspiration in different areas saying “My biggest role models are my older sisters. They push me to be the best I can possibly be. My biggest influence is my older brother. He works out with me whenever he has the chance and lets me know my hard work go unnoticed”. Including her “highlight moment” when she had 22 points against one of her schools rivals and they got the win.
Simien shared “I am proud to represent my school in a good and respectful manner”. Going on to say “In college I want to study to be a veterinarian. I have always loved dogs and helping animals”. For now, however, she will continue to follow Kyrie Irving on social media “who keeps to himself but also stays aware of what is going on in the world and tries to help those in need”.
Something Simien respects.
