Cordell’s Brady Reimer WOSC Spotlight Presented by Western State College

Along with a variety of degrees offered, Western Oklahoma State College in Altus has a number of extracurricular activities and clubs that their students can be involved in. One of those is the Shooting Sports team, which is what caught the eye of Brady Reimer.

Brady is a 2001 graduate from Cordell High School. He chose WOSC because of the atmosphere and the shooting program. He enjoys it so much that he goes out and talks about the school to high school students.

“I chose WOSC because they have a lot of friendly faces on campus,” he said. “I enjoyed the smaller atmosphere. I was a WOSC Ambassador which is a program that tours potential students and travels to area schools to present the school’s attributes. I also knew some of the shooting team members from previous 4-H competitions and was excited to shoot with them.”

The Shooting Sports team shoots trap, skeet, and sporting clays competitively. He has made a lot of memories as a member of the team.
“My favorite experience was winning our division at the National Collegiate Clay Target Championships in San Antonio, Texas last year,” he recalled. “We compete in trap, skeet, and sporting clays with colleges of all divisions from across the nation. I have enjoyed getting to travel to several different states to shoot.”

Shooting for sport has been a part of Reimer’s life for quite some time. He says that he enjoys the challenge it gives him.
“I started shooting with the 4-H shooting sports in the sixth grade in Greer County,” he said. “When we moved to Cordell, I shot 4-H and then with the Cordell FFA. I enjoy the team aspect of being with friends who enjoy the competition and push each other to try harder. Sporting clays is my favorite event, every station is different and every shoot is a challenge.”

After he completes his courses at WOSC, Brady plans to continue his education at a university and obtain a degree in agriculture and will look to run a business.
