Brianna Denney, a Clinton High School senior, is a shining example of dedication and resilience. As a varsity softball player and cheerleader, she has not only excelled in sports but also in the classroom.
One highlight of her high school career was becoming a U.S. Army All-American cheerleader.
“Being a U.S. Army All-American cheerleader has been a dream come true,” Denney said. “It’s not just about cheering; it’s about being able to support others when they are down on themselves.”
Throughout her academic journey, one teacher, Ms. Ashley Kelley, has stood out. “She is the reason I liked going to school because she always finds a way to make class and learning fun,” Denney said. “Kelley and my family are the ones who push me to continue to strive to be the best I can be not only in my sports but with my future career.”
In sports, Denney’s inspiration has been Kenzie Kauk, a teammate who always kept spirits high.
“No matter what was going on or how bad a game was going, she always had a smile on her face,” Denney said. “She was always picking her teammates up and encouraging them.” Denney’s dedication and commitment are relentless, on the field and in the classroom. She juggles athletic commitments with two college classes and mock trial legal team involvement. “It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to be involved in this program,” Denney said regarding mock trial.
“I love being able to show our community just how hard we work as student-athletes,” Denney said. “As someone who gets straight A’s and is in two college classes and two sports, I love going out and showing people how hard I have worked.”
Reflecting on her best advice received, Denney shared, “Even if it wasn’t a good day, make it a good day. You have to find the good.”
“I want to thank all my coaches and teachers for always helping me get better,” Denney said. “Their constant support has pushed me so far throughout the years.
