CLINTON RED TORNADOES
Coach: JOHN HIGBEE7-4
OFFENSE After a trip to the quarterfinals of the Class 4A playoffs last season, the Clinton football program and head coach John Higbee are eager to get this bunch on the field and see how they will continue the legacy of Red Tornado football. Five starters are back on offense which includes Cooper Sulley (5-11, 180, Sr.) at quarterback. Sulley will have some excellent options in the passing game with the return of Jeremiah Barker (5-6, 135, Sr.) and Darren Hester (5-6, 145, So.) who will double as one of the running backs. The player looking to carry the load is Kyntavion Hill (5-7, 170, Jr.) who will dot the I in the I-formation coach Higbee and staff will run this season. Hill has the speed to run away from would-be tacklers and is strong enough to pound the ball for short yardage. Hill rushed for 604 yards on 58 carries last season scoring four touchdowns.DEFENSE
Graduation took a pair of outstanding linebackers but look for several guys to step up and fill those roles. Zaedon Collins (5-10, 195, Jr.) recorded 71 tackles last season and returns as one of the leaders on defense. Collins will contribute on the offensive side of the ball at running back. The defensive line may be the strength this season with Layden Fuller (5-8, 240, Sr.) at nose guard and Montiel “Bumpy” Crane (5-10, 250, Sr.) at tackle. Crane accounted for 63 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, four sacks, and three forced fumbles as a junior. Add Parish Blackwolf (6-2, 210, Sr.) to this group and you have a salty bunch who enjoys the battle in the trenches. Look for Hester to start at safety with Hill giving the secondary two legit pass defenders. Other players to watch include Brayden Fuller (5-10, 234, So.) and Connor Richardson (6-1, 260, So.), both will play on the offensive and defensive lines. The coaching staff includes Dex Felch, Robert Gordon, Grant Lee, Jacob Lee, Devon Mitchell, Jay Ritchert, and Reggie Weil.SCHEDULE
