When the Fox Foxes take the field this fall, Kamo Johnson will entering his sophomore season of football and FFA.
Johnson was in the third grade when he started in 4H and FFA thanks to family members who encouraged him to join.
“My mother, brother, Nana and Papa, all encouraged me to join and stay in FFA,”
said Johnson. “Just the experience of being in FFA and the amount of fun I have
are two reasons why I love being in FFA.”
The sophomore is a member of the livestock judging team when he’s not in the arena showing animals of his own.
“I show pigs and judge livestock,” said Johnson. “It’s a lot of fun and FFA has
opened up a lot of opportunities for me.” Johnson credits his family for being a big
influence in his life.
“My mom always cared about how other people felt, and my Nana always makes
sure me and my brother have whatever we want. My Papa is a real hard-working
man, he’s always working on something and never has time to sit around. My
brother is funny, and he tries to make other people laugh,” said Johnson.
This fall Johnson will take the field with his teammates at Fox High School. The
five-sport student-athlete said he loves competing with his teammates.
“I play football, basketball, weightlift, golf, and track. I love that everyone is
committed and is working hard this season, and that we pick each other up.
They are committed, hardworking, and want play. And we have amazing coaches,”
said Johnson.
The future for Johnson will include more FFA, more sports and possibly a future
playing at the next level.
“I plan to go to college to play sports if that doesn’t work out I plan to do
physical therapy,” said Johnson.
