Elk City High School sophomore Ella Sottile never missed a beat this year.
In her second year of high school sports, Sottile was part of a softball team that only missed the state tournament by a game and a basketball team that nearly made the area tournament, and she almost made state in track & field in an event she had only just picked up.
“The year went pretty well,” Sottile said. “In track, I started something new, which is pole vault. I finished my season just short of a state but ended the season with a new PR. We barely fell short in both softball and basketball this season.”
With half her athletic career ahead of her, Sottile hopes to make state in one of her three sports, but softball is her No. 1 favorite. After high school, she hopes to pursue a degree in physical therapy while playing college softball.
Her Christian ideals guide her through her daily life.
“One thing everybody should know about me is that I am a Christian,” Sottile said. “I wouldn’t be who I am without Christ and all of my success is through him.”
