VYPE: What was your experience like playing for a basketball state championship earlier this spring?
CJ Nickson: It was a great experience. It’s something good for us to build on.
VYPE: You only lost by 4 points in the title game. Did the loss leave a bad taste in your mouth?
CJ: Yes it did.
VYPE: Are you more motivated for football season because of it?
CJ: Football for me is its own thing. What motivates me is helping my team go as far as possible.
VYPE: You’ve picked up quite a few notable football offers this spring. What are you looking for in a school?
CJ: Just the best possible fit for me in either sports
VYPE: How have you enjoyed running with Team Griffin this spring?
CJ: It’s been a great experience. Everything is well-organized and they really take care of me.
VYPE: You’re only halfway through your high school athletic career with well over 1,000 career points. When we talk again two years from now, what do you hope to have accomplished as a Weatherford Eagle?
CJ: I hope to bring the school back the first state championship in school history on the boys side and build and leave a culture after we leave.
