Nathan Augustine is wrapping up his senior year of high school at Mangum High School. As a multi-sport athlete for the Tigers, he has enjoyed many moments throughout his career. But out of all of those memories, he says there is something that stands out the most.
“I think the highlight moment of my career would have to be my entire senior year,” he said.
“People doubted us in every sport we played and we proved them wrong.”
Playing football, basketball and baseball, Augustine has worked hard to be the best athlete that he can be.
“I just want to live up to the standards that were set at Mangum by the people that have played in the past and that’s to be great and if you don’t work hard you won’t live up to that. I love to represent my school and community,” Augustine said. “Our community supports us in everything that we do and it just feels good to give back to them by playing. I wouldn’t have wanted to play for a different community than Mangum’s.”
During his life, Nathan has had a number of people that have been influential in his life.
“The biggest influence on my life is most definitely my dad,” Augustine stated. “He always pushes me to be my best in everything that I do and that nothing comes easy in life so you have to earn it. My favorite teacher is Mrs. A. She is always there to help and you also have fun while doing her work. She has taught me that you have to work to have fun.”
No matter what sport he is playing, Augustine says that there is one team that is more enjoyable to beat than all the rest: Hobart.
“They are our rivals so whenever we beat them it just makes the whole season better,” Augustine said.
