Like many of her peers, Kaitlynn McCage started her FFA journey at a young age.
“I got involved with FFA very young. I had a lot of older cousins that showed
pigs and I was always in the barn with them my papa encouraged me to be involved in the FFA,” said McCage. “He loves being able to take care of the pigs. He loves being in the barn with his grandkids.”
Now a senior, McCage is looking forward to what comes next in life but is taking a lifetime of memories with her from her time in FFA.
“I am currently a senior at Thackerville High School and after graduation I plan to attend Kansas Christian College to play softball and then transfer to the University of Oklahoma for dental school,” said McCage.
As a member of the FFA chapter at Thackerville, McCage has stayed engaged with the program and the FFA community.
“The thing I enjoy most about FFA is all of the fun events and all the people you meet,” McCage said. “I am also involved in Fellowships of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society and NSHSS student council.”
McCage also plays softball, basketball and is a member of the cheer squad.
“My favorite thing about being a part of the basketball team is all of the teamwork and the special bonds we all share,” said McCage.
The senior said anyone interested in FFA should do it.
“There are so many opportunities that it gives you.”
