Jackie Funderburk is a senior at Chickasha High School. Funderburk plays setter on the volleyball team and has been playing volleyball since the seventh grade. In volleyball Funderburk strives to provide opportunities for her teammates to excel.
“My favorite aspect about volleyball would have to be the feeling I get when I give my hitters a good set and they spike it down for a point,” Funderburk said. “We all feel really hyped!”
As a senior, Funderburk has made many wonderful memories at Chickasha.
“I’ve had too many great memories in Chickasha to pick just one,” Funderburk said. “Whether it’s the endless hours of practice with my teammates or as a team hanging out at the lake, all those memories mean a lot to me.”
Funderburk appreciates the time she has gotten to spend with her team and knows that she’ll carry those memories with her for the rest of her life and she’s grateful for having gotten to build friendships along the way.
Funderburk said it was impossible to pick out a singular moment that stands out and views her entire experience as a wonderful time. She cherishes the time she’s had at Chickasha and looks forward to building even more memories in her senior year.
“These memories and lessons I will carry for a lifetime.”
When it comes to inspirational figures Funderburk turns to her father.
“My dad is my role model,” she said. “He is the best.”
After high school Funderburk plans on attending Canadian Valley Technical Center.
“I plan on going to nursing school while working as a real estate agent,” Funderburk said. “I plan on having my real estate license before graduation.”
Funderburk keeps herself busy, but utilizes time management skills well and is always working hard. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and does powerlifting as well.
