Derek Eubanks, J.D. Prather, and Cale Schroeder have been playing baseball together for the Amber-Pocasset Panthers for the last six years, and they have become pretty close friends during that time. Vype sat down with the trio and asked them a few questions, and these are their responses.
What positions do you play?
Derek: “Shortstop and pitcher.”
Cale: “Catcher.”
J.D.: “Pitcher and first baseman.”
Which of you is the best baseball player?
Derek: “I think all three of us can agree that it’s me.”
J.D.: “You wanna rethink that?”
Cale: “I think if we go to the books we can all agree it’s me.”
Who is best with the ladies?
Cale: “Honestly, probably Coach Graham.”
J.D.: “Coach Graham.”
Derek: “Yeah, definitely Coach Graham.”
Coach Graham: “You know, that’s true.”
It’s game day, and you have to win. Who gets to pick the hype playlist and why?
Derek: “Cale, he will play anything. It doesn’t matter who’s around.”
J.D.: “Cale usually has the right music for that situation.”
Cale: “I’m there to try and hype everyone up, and I’ll play any type of music so I can hype up anyone in the indoor or on the bus.”
It’s your last meal – what are you having?
Derek: “Roy’s BBQ. I would get the old style sliced beef.”
J.D.: “A grilled hamburger.”
Cale: “A shrimp tempura roll and steak and chicken hibachi from Volcano.”
What are your plans for after high school?
Derek: “Attend college somewhere and get a degree in agricultural economics.”
J.D.: “Attend college and become a game warden.”
Cale: “Attend a JUCO college and continue my baseball journey.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
Derek: “Hunting, fishing, weightlifting, and spending time with family and friends.”
Cale: “Hitting, lifting, and hanging out with friends and family.”
J.D.: “Fishing, listening to music, and hanging out with friends and family.”
