Clinton Volleyball Preview – Presented by RibCrib

New head coach Emma Seiter enters the 2022 with several new faces in key positions and a new coaching staff for the Lady Reds.

“The Clinton High School Lady Reds Volleyball team is fresh. That being said, I mean we lost six solid starters in last year’s graduating class, and we have great underclassman stepping up,” said coach Emma Seiter.

Last season Seiter was an assistant middle school coach for Clinton and is looking forward to the challenge of taking on a tough varsity schedule.

Senior Libero Clariza Ramos returns as one of the leaders of the team this season.

“Clariza is a culture builder, hustler, and dedicated athlete. Clariza is usually the first player in the gym every day, and the last to leave. She is a vocal player who leads her team offensively and defensively from the backrow and is coachable and always eager for constructive critic. She is disciplined in her bodily movements and a very technical player, which makes her a great athlete for our underclassmen to look up to. She has experienced success this last club season that brings a very valuable asset to our new match up of players on the court this season,” said coach Seiter.

Lexie Conway (S, So.) is another player to watch this season. She is a gifted athlete and a player who understands the game very well.

“Volleyball mechanics come to her naturally and she has great potential to play at the collegiate level with more court experience and competitive opportunities. Lexie has grit and will do anything to keep the ball alive for her team. She is a smart and aggressive setter who is learning to lead our offense well,” said coach Seiter.

Setter and serving specialist Anna Christie (Jr.) add another layer to the Lady Reds arsenal. Christie and Mindy Sawatsky (Sr.) give the Lady Reds two quality players who bring excellent experience to the court. Sawatsky can play right and middle blocker. Other athletes to watch include Ali Rodelo (MB, Sr.), Campbell Matlock (R/MB, Sr.), Taryn Wraspir (M/OB, Jr.), Bryale Johnson (OH, Jr.), Zaida Lodes-Bagwell (RH, Jr.), and Lillian Lime (O/MB, So.).
