With plenty of experience returning to the court for Chickasha, head coach Nancy Waters is looking forward to seeing this team compete.
“We will have a senior laden team this year. We have lots of experience since these girls have been starters since they were freshmen. We have the skills necessary to have a very successful season. Need to find the chemistry to excel,” said coach Waters.
Jayden Brown-Adams (OH, Sr.) is an athletic outside hitter who can climb the ladder and get those big shots across the net.
“She has worked hard the past six years making her game better each year. She is a leader on the floor and continues to teach the younger players the skills she has learned,” said coach Waters.
Another player to watch is KK Willard (OH, S, Fr.) who can play multiple positions and is an exciting young talent coming to Chickasha this season. The heart of the team might be Hayla Wilson (Sr.) the teams Libero. Wilson is a tough player who does not mind grinding out wins. Jackie Funderburk (S, Sr.) is a setter everyone loves playing with. An unselfish player, Funderburk may be the smartest player on the court. Kylie Owens (OH, Sr.) is another powerful outside hitter with big play potential.
Other players to watch include Adrian Martinez (MH, Jr.), Maysun Bohot (DS, Sr.), Madison Walker (MH, Sr.), Madison McDaniel (DS, Jr.), and Addison Kennedy (S, Jr.).
Overall, this will be a fun team to watch. Like coach Waters mentioned, if they can build good chemistry on and off the court, this team could be the surprise team of the season.
