DIBBLE DEMONS
RICHARD NORMAN
5-6
OFFENSE
Richard Norman heads into the 2022 season after three years as head coach of the Dibble Demons looking to play with a fast tempo. Expect the Demons to line up in a variety of gun spreads and wear down defenses by running the ball. Jag Norman (5-11, 190, Jr.) rushed for 840 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2021. As a five-sport athlete, he’s one of the most dynamic players on the Demon’s roster, and can make an impact from anywhere on the field. Lane Lessor (5-9, 175, Jr.) joins Norman in the backfield after racking up 550 total yards and five touchdowns last season. Quarterback Trey Ott (6-2, 205, So.) will lead the offense this year with another season under his belt and looks to mature throughout the season and let the game come to him. Big bodied Cristivol Cruz (5-11, 240, Sr.) provides veteran leadership on the offensive front. Young playmakers Austin Maddox (6-0, 150, So.) and Hayden Merrick (5-10, 150, So.) will look to form an early connection with Ott that progresses over the season.
DEFENSE
“We will line up in a 4-2 defense,” Norman said. “Our philosophy is to shut down the run and pressure the quarterback to disrupt the passing game.” Linebacker Hudson Long (5-10, 200, Jr.) leads the charge for the Demon’s defense. He was a menace in 2021 and totaled 104 tackles. Norman, a two-way impact player, also appears at linebacker and his versatility makes him a threat from wherever he lines up on the field. Defensive end Luke Blanchard (6-5, 195, Jr.) is a force of nature. With his speed, height, and wingspan he’s a terror for opposing quarterbacks behind the line of scrimmage. Veteran lineman Gerald Dover (6-0, 220, Sr.) uses his size to clog holes in running lanes, while defensive backs Trevor Christensen (6-0, 175, Sr.) and Nathan Harpole (5-9, 160, Sr.) lock down receivers on the outside and look for ways to force turnovers.
