Clinton Football Preview: Offense – Presented by K&S Tire

Head Coach – John Higbee

2021: 13-1

Coming off a state championship, the Clinton Red Tornadoes only return four starters to their offense, but those starters were productive last year. Clinton will use the I-Formation as their base as they try to run the ball to control the clock. The Red Tornadoes want to be physical while taking what the defense gives them. Leading the Clinton rushing attack is Garrison Rhoades (6-1, 180, Jr.). Rhoades had 805 yards on the ground last year. Joining Rhoades in the backfield is fullback Trey Bennett (6-1, 190, Sr.). Bennett had over 500 yards rushing and over 100 yards receiving as he proved to be an all-purpose back for Clinton. Head coach John Higbee says Bennett is hard-nosed and versatile. Out wide, Jerimiah Barker (5-8, 160, Jr.) is back after recording 480 receiving yards last season. Up front, Higbee says Matt Nguyen (5-7, 180, Sr.) and Kong Reeves (5-6, 165, Sr.) are like a couple of small Pit bulls because they undersized yet shockingly effective at what they do.
