Chickasha Area Editor’s Choice “Super 7” and Fans Choice – Presented by CV Tech

These are the top seven players in the Chickasha area hub, ranked by VYPE editors regardless of position.

#1 Karsen Williams – QB – Senior – Anadarko

Williams can throw the ball around the yard with the best of them. Last season he had 2,200 yards passing and is expected to have similar numbers this season. 

#2 Bo Green – QB/FS – Junior – Maysville

Green is one of the more exciting players you will see all season. Green rushed for 750 yards, threw for 1,250 yards and scored 22 times. He also grabbed 35 tackles and two interceptions in 2020. 

#3 Seth Spady – TE/FB/DE – Senior – Hinton

Spady is a load at fullback. Last season he rushed for 840 yards and was crucial in the run game as a blocker. On defense Spady made 60 tackles and one sack from his defensive end position. 

#4 Gunner Kerr – LB – Senior – Tuttle 

Kerr is a monster at linebacker for Tuttle. Last season has recorded 122 tackles, one interception and four tackles for loss. Kerr is a sideline-to-sideline type player.

#5 Lincoln Smith – WR/CB – Senior – Blanchard

Smith is a dangerous receiver for the Lions. Last season he caught 28 passes for 570 yards with six touchdowns. On defense he made 29 tackles, six interceptions with eight pass breakups. 

#6 Ma’Lek Murphy – RB – Junior – Chickasha 

An exciting runner to watch, Murphy brings his quickness and elusiveness to the field for Chickasha. Last season he rushed for over 500 yards and five touchdowns. 

#7 Cache Barrett – QB – Junior – Lindsay 

As a sophomore Cache Barrett threw for more than 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. Barrett is comfortable in the pocket and can hurt you with his ability to scramble or tuck and run. 

Based on fan voting in the Chickasha area hub, here are the top players at seven positions.

OFFENSE

Quarterback: Jason Linn – Bridge Creek

Linn is a leader on and off the field. He will be a big impact player this season.

Wide Receiver/Tight End: Xavier Copeland-McFadden – Chickasha

Xavier had 18 receptions for 315 yards and four touchdowns last season. He looks to increase that this year.

Running Back: Ma’lek Murphy – Chickasha

Ma’lek is great athlete. He is a hard worker that is set for a break out junior season. He will be highlighted in the offense with the ability to run the ball and catch the ball out out of the backfield.

Offensive Lineman: Aiden Gonzalez – Chickasha

Aiden is a big and strong kid that will be an anchor on the offensive line this year.

DEFENSE

Linebacker: Kanard Gonzalez – Chickasha

He has put in a lot of hard work in the offseason and should be a big time player.

Defensive Back: Broty Ramming – Lindsay

Ramming is looking to increase his impact this year after registering 27 tackles and one interceptions.

Defensive Lineman: Bubba Cain – Elmore City

Quick off the ball and very strong. Hard to block.
