OFFENSE
The Comets offensive line brings back some experience for the upcoming season. guard Kase Boling (6-3, 255, Sr.), guard Ryan Lytal (5-9, 195, Jr.), center Josh Ralston (5-9, 190, Sr.), and tackle Emilio Gonzalez (6-0, 190, Jr.) are ready to protect the quarterback and open up holes for his teammates to run through. Playing at tight end will be Seth Spady (6-2, 250, Sr.), who will work to be an impact player for the team this season. Braydon Strong (6-1, 150, Jr.) will line up at wide receiver and will look to expand on his 20 receptions for 236 yards that he had a year ago.
DEFENSE
After only losing one starter from last season’s defense, the Comets will be more aggressive this season and make more plays. Spady had 60 tackles and a sack at the defensive end position, while Lytal ended with 48 tackles and five sacks. Both will work to better those numbers this season. Jack Brookshire (6-0, 175 Jr.) and Jake Wright (5-10, 175, So.) combined for 109 tackles, four fumble recoveries, and a sack at linebacker. In the secondary, cornerback Tyler Strong (6-2, 160, Sr.) and strong safety Levi Taylor (5-10, 155, Jr.) had 41 tackles and one interception.
