These are the top seven players in the Altus area hub, ranked by VYPE editors regardless of position.
#1 Rett Duff – DL – Senior – Hobart
The big man in the middle for Hobart accounted for 48 tackles, three sacks and six tackles for loss last year. Duff is one of the top defensive linemen in the area and he made VYPE’s Top 100.
#2 Lane Pearl – OL – Senior – Altus
One of the top offensive linemen in the class, Pearl is technically sound and brings a lot of experience to the lineup for the Bulldogs. This should be his best season on record.
#3 Brody Shelby – QB/LB – Junior – Mangum
As a sophomore Shelby racked up more than 2,000 total yards of offense with 15 touchdowns. He has over 20 starts enter his junior year and is expected to have a major impact this year.
#4 Jaden Hall – QB/DE – Senior – Balko-Forgan
Hall put up amazing numbers as a junior throwing for 1,018 yards on 68 passes with 13 TD’s while rushing for 1,588 yards and scoring 20 times. Hall will also start at DE for the Bison.
#5 Brice Ditmore – LB – Senior – Mangum
Ditmore accounted for 81 tackles from his linebacker spot last season. The 6-foot, 185-pound backer is quick to the ball and rarely misses a tackle. He sets the tone for the defense.
#6 Wyatt Shelburne – WR/QB/FS – Senior – Hobart
Mr. Utility for the Bearcats, Shelburne will be used in multiple ways on offense. Last season he had 17 receptions for 282 yards and two scores. On defense he grabbed 65 tackles and one pick.
#7 Bryce Kahla – QB – Senior – Altus
This could be a solid season for Kahla as he looks to help Altus grab some wins in the Dan Cocannouer offense. Expect to see sound play from Kahla as the dual-threat quarterback is poised for a big year.

OFFENSE
Quarterback: Brody Shelby – Mangum
Brody is an outstanding three-sport athlete. He is a hard working young man that started thirteen games as a freshman. Has the potential to play at the next level.
Wide Receiver/Tight End: Gunnar Jones – Hobart
Gunnar has sure hands and is the type of guy that is a quarterbacks best friend.
Running Back: Tommy Lancaster – Hobart
After a strong junior year, Lancaster has high hopes for his senior campaign. He has good speed and runs the football with an edge.
Offensive Lineman: Rett Duff – Hobart
Duff registered 48 tackles, three tackles for loss, and three sacks last season. Looks to increase his impact this year.
DEFENSE
Linebacker: Brice Ditmore – Mangum
Big personality who makes everyone around him have a better day. Had 81 tackles last year and looks to be above and beyond that this year. Very selfless athlete as well.
Defensive Back: Wyatt Shelburne – Hobart
Wyatt is a very good, solid athlete in the three sports he participates in at Hobart. He leads with his work ethic and desire to be the best he can be.
Defensive Lineman: Nathan Augustine – Mangum
After having thirteen tackles and six tackles for loss last year, Nathan is ready to make a bigger splash this season.
