Comanche’s Brilee Combs Athlete Spotlight Presented by Dusty Corp Shelter Insurance

Comanche High School

As track season inches closer to the state meet, runners around the state are clocking their times to determine where they need to finish to find their way to the podium. One runner looking to grab a medal this year is Comanche High School’s Brilee Combs. Combs has competed in track for several years and runs cross country in the fall.

“I have run track for six years, and I am in the 1600-meter run and 800-meter run,” said Combs.

For Combs, track has been more than just a way out of class. Combs has made some great friends and memories while competing for CHS.

“I enjoy being around my coaches and teammates the most. The best thing about attending track meets is getting to cheer my teammates on, the worst thing would be having to deal with the wind. My favorite memory as a student-athlete at CHS is just about any cross country practice, we have fun,” said Combs.

With any team, chemistry is important and for the Comanche track team, both boys and girls enjoy the process and have fun doing it.

“I would say Ayden Frye and Brycen Lassley keep the team laughing, the most serious is David Tidwell. Brycen Lassley and Ayden Frye impress me the most,” said Combs.

Combs is a member of the FFA chapter at school as well as BPA and NTHS. She is undecided on what she will do after she graduates from CHS.
