Weatherford’s Carter Teasley – Presented by Pond Agency

Carter Teasley, a Weatherford High School senior, navigated his high school baseball path by following his brother.

“My dad and older brother would always go play catch or hit, and I wanted to try it, and I just started to love it ever since,” Teasley said. “[Braden] would always take me to hit and play catch and taught me most of the stuff I know about sports.”

Braden, who also played at WHS, charted the path for Carter. Now, Teasley can build off what his older brother started.

“They had some pretty good seasons and we’re just trying to keep getting better and have a run into the playoffs,” Teasley said. “I think we can make a deep push in the playoffs, especially if we win out in districts but hopefully make it to the state tournament. . . [We need to] just do everything with intention and play every game serious, as we are all playing for each other.”

Off the field, Teasley believes the most important thing he can do with his teammates is “just be there for each other through life and trials,” but his on-field talents are nothing to scoff at. Still, his experience is invaluable for the Eagles.

“Everybody looks up to me as a leader and upperclassman,” Teasley said.

He considers it partially his responsibility to “keep everyone in a good head space,” and provide any knowledge he can impart on his teammates.

Teasley has plenty going on, even when he isn’t pitching or starting in the outfield for Weatherford’s baseball team. In the fall, he plays football. He’s also a member of FFA, class office, trap shooting and the welding team.

“I care a lot about Weatherford and how we present ourselves, and I think hard work will take you a long ways, in not just sports, but life.”

After high school, Teasley plans to either join the army or go into working a trade.
