9 Qs with Altus thrower Ajay Hughes – Presented by Bulldog Furniture

VYPE:What we’re your goals for the season? How are those coming? 

Ajay Hughes: To beat my personal Best in discus and working in the weight room to throw the shot put and disc farther.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life? 

Ajay: Hard work and perfect practice really helps you improve.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Ajay: Mrs. McLeod, my first grade teacher, because she has always been a second mom to me and always supported me.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Ajay:  My parents because they have always worked very hard and never gave up.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why? 

Ajay: My friend Garrett Gribble on the football team because he always challenges me and is always willing to work hard to get better and to improve.

VYPE: what has been your biggest obstacle in your athletic career and how did you overcome it?  

Ajay: Having to play varsity as an underclassmen and how I overcame this obstacle was by going to the gym and really working hard to get bigger.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you? 

Ajay: I would like to go to Spain for my summer vacation and bring the family with me.

VYPE: What do you love about your sport?

Ajay: Hanging out with the other throwers and getting metals at meets.
