9 Qs with Altus cheerleader Madelyn Falon – Presented by Just Brew It Coffee House

VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Madelyn: My goals for this cheer season were to stay positive and determined throughout all of our practices. Cheer has a very long season that consists of cheering for football, basketball, and wrestling; while we also get ready to compete at the regional and state level which is in November. So, each day I was determined to keep our team confident and motivated throughout this whole year.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Madelyn: Discipline and hard work are some of the great lessons that I have learned from cheerleading. Cheerleading has taught me to never give up and keep pushing forward even when things get difficult.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Madelyn: My favorite teacher would have to be Mr. Robert Garrison. He was my teacher in eighth grade and my junior year. I learned so much from him and made lots of great memories in his class.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Madelyn: My mom would have to be my biggest inspiration. She taught me to always be kind to everyone and how to keep a positive attitude through everything in my life.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Madelyn: My senior teammates have left a big impact on me because we all support each other, and help make our team stronger together.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Madelyn:  My favorite part about being on a team would have to be always having a group of friends that will have your back no matter what. I’m thankful for all of the times that we laughed and supported each other through the ups and downs.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Madelyn: If I could go to any place for a summer vacation, I would definitely pick somewhere with a nice beach. I would take my family because we love to travel and do fun things together.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Madelyn: I have been passionate about cheerleading ever since I first cheered on a competitive team when I was 5 years old.  I’ve always enjoyed performing in front of a crowd and working hard to achieve a goal.  I’ve been proud of my time as an Altus Bulldog cheerleader in junior high and throughout my four years in high school.  Winning the State Game Day competition with the Altus Cheer Team in 2020 also sparked my love for cheer.

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Madelyn: I just wanted to give a big thank you to my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for supporting me throughout my whole cheerleading journey.
