PLAYERS TO WATCH

Boys Basketball

Ricky Thornburg – Alex

Great kid and a really tough, good player. Outstanding defender and makes tough shots. He will be called on to be a leader on the team this season.

Kristian Komardley – Apache

Kristian has been a four-year varsity player and a three-year starter along with being the leading scorer for the past three years. He averaged 21.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.0 steals last season and continues to get better every year. Along with being a talented player, he has been a great leader and role model for the rest of the team to follow.

Cole Milam – Blanchard

Cole is a four year starter and his presence on the floor is valuable. Over the last three seasons, he has led the team in scoring, rebounds, and blocked shots at one time or another. Not to mention leading in taking defensive charges for two seasons. He does the dirty work on both ends of the court

Jacob Ojeda – Bridge Creek

Jacob is a great kid that works hard to be his best. He loves the game of basketball and it shows when he steps out on the court.

Jalen Wallace – Carnegie

Wallace is the engine that makes the team go. He is a floor general in all senses of the word.

Ma’lek Murphy – Chickasha

An explosive player who led the team in assists and rebounds a year ago and was second in scoring. Looks like four but handles the ball like a guard and will see a lot of time at the one. There is nothing on the floor he cannot do. He loves to get out and run and attack in transition and is hard to stop in the open floor.

Dane Carmon – Dibble

Dane has come a long way as a basketball player and teammate in the past year. He has the ability to score in many ways. He also has the defensive IQ to be able to get his hands on passes and create turnovers. He is very active on the boards.

Jaxon Willits – Fort Cobb-Broxton

A really strong kid that can score at all three levels and is an outstanding leader for us. His talents go beyond the basketball court as he has committed to play baseball at the University of Oklahoma.

Kaleb Ince – Lindsay

A very savvy player that plays well at both ends of the court. Kaleb is also a strong leader.

Kade Anthony – Minco

Kade is a terrific point guard who has started and played in big games throughout the last two seasons. Kade is a great leader and very skilled. He was the team’s most valuable player last season.

JJ Jerdee – Ninnekah

JJ is an up-and-comer that can be a two-way player. He can defend on the perimeter and can score from inside and out. JJ works hard at his craft and has improved since last year. He has a high basketball IQ and his work ethic fits with next-level players.

Girls Basketball

Riley Byrne – Alex

A senior and a three-year starter, Riley helps keep the team composed in the stressful parts of games. She can score inside and out and makes great decisions with the ball in her hands.

Abbie Savage – Amber Pocasset

Abbie has a chance to really put it all together this year. She has had some big moments in the past three years.

Taylor Malone – Cement

Taylor is a shooting guard and has the potential to score 15-20 points a game. She can handle the ball well, she is fast, and can play good defense. She is a good vocal leader and leads by example.

Leighanne Eaton – Chickasha

Leighanne is a senior that will play a big role on this year’s team. She’s a great athlete that has signed to play softball at USAO.

Emily Martinez – Minco

Emily is in her senior season. The ball will go through her hands. She is an excellent decision-maker down low.
