Inspirational Figures and More with Elk City Basketball’s Alex Cupp – Presented by P&M Auto Service

VYPE: What are your goals for this season?

Alex: My goals this year are to come closer as a team and to have a winning record.

VYPE: Which athlete do you look up to and why?

Alex: The athlete I look up to has to be Kobe Bryant. His work ethic inspires me to do better in everything I do.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Alex: Mrs. Simon has to be my favorite teacher. She has been my Spanish teacher my sophomore and junior year. She is always so nice and always has something fun for class. She is everything you could ask for in a teacher.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Alex: The person that inspires me the most has to be my father Danny Cupp. He has taught me throughout my life to never take anything for granted and to never give up on what I love to do!

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Alex: The teammate that left the biggest impression on me has to be Kye Keyes. He is always working hard and making his teammates better. Me and Kye played on a travel team over the summer, so I got to see first hand the work Kye has put in.

VYPE: What does being on a team mean to you?

Alex: The meaning of a team to me is a brotherhood. From practice to morning training and the games. We are all in it together, we fail and we succeed together.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Alex: If I could pick a place for a summer vacation it would have to be a trip to Tenkiller lake with my family and cousins. I love to go fish with my dad and to just be at the lake!

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing basketball?

Alex: How I first got into playing basketball was playing in a little league our town had called Kids Inc. I also used to watch Russell Westbrook on the Thunder. He made me really fall in love with the sport!

VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.

Alex: I would like to thank my mom (Lela Cupp) and my dad (Danny Cupp). They have poured everything into me and my sister and I can’t thank them enough for it. I would also like to give thanks to my twin sister Adyson Cupp. She is like a built-in best friend. She always pushes me to do my best! Another group of people I would like to give my thanks to are my meme Nancy Brooks and my papa Lance Brooks and my mema Peggy Beck. They always come and support me at every game I play. I am more than grateful for all the people that help me succeed!
