Minco Bulldogs Basketball Preview – Presented by First National Bank & Trust Co.

Coach: Cache Hill

21-22 Record: 16-9

The Bulldogs had a solid season a year ago, ending with a 16-9 record and making an exit in regionals. This season, they are looking to build off last year and use their experience to make a deeper playoff run. Cache Hill is the head coach of the Minco boys’ basketball team and thinks that this year’s team has a lot of potential. “We return three starters from last year’s team and multiple players off the bench that got significant minutes,” he said. “Adding a strong group of sophomores and freshmen will help with depth. We will have strong guards that can shoot and defend. Overall quickness will be a strength. I feel that we have the potential to be a top team by the end of the season.”

One of the main players for the Bulldogs this season will be Kade Anthony (6-1, Sr.). He is a terrific point guard who has started and played in big games throughout the last two seasons. Kade is a great leader and a very skilled athlete. He was the most valuable player last season, averaging 10.1 points and 5.2 rebounds. He will look to increase that production this season. Another senior that will look to play a big role this year is Brady Harris (6-0, Sr.). Brady is outstanding from behind the arc, shooting 37 percent from three last season. He also had multiple games last season with five or more three-pointers. Riley Beck (6-4, So.) is a guard with unlimited range. Riley has gained some weight and matured since last season and should contribute immediately. Entering his final season of high school basketball, Braden Bross (5-10, Sr.) is an extremely hard-working player that goes above and beyond what is expected despite being undersized. He also does a great job of encouraging his teammates and fills whatever role is necessary.

Reed McMurtrey (6-1, Jr.), Jason Martinez (6-1, Sr.), and Ashton Taylor (6-2, Jr.) all three saw playing time last season and will be looked on to play a bigger role this season. Other Bulldogs to watch for this season are Brior Reynolds (6-2, Sr.), Caiden Brown (5-10, So.), Carson Littlejohn (6-4, So.), Aden Brummell (6-0, Fr.), Clayton Mounce (6-0, So.), Dason McMurtrey (5-10, Fr.), Jose Martiniez (5-9, Fr.), and Landon McMahon (5-6, Fr.).
