Duncan Demons Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Bryan Fisher RE/MAX of Duncan

Coach: Brandon Kephart

2021-22 Record: 17-6

Third year head coach of the Lady Duncan Demons’ Brandon Kephart knows that this year’s team may have some growing pains to start the season. Duncan only has one senior on the roster, but Kephart says that his team is loaded with young talent and that this group will be a fun one to watch grow. The Lady Demons have a solid core of sophomores who played big minutes last year and will be asked to take on even bigger roles this season.

KK Miller (Sr.) is the lone senior and she will be asked to set the tone in practice and games this season with her energy on the offensive and defensive end. As a three-sport star, Miller is used to playing in big moments and she looks to have a solid senior year. Addie Siess (6-0, Jr.) is a VYPE Top 100 Nominee and has great size and athleticism at the forward position. “She loves the game of basketball and is constantly working to improve her game,” coach Kephart said. “She has put in a lot of work this summer and I am looking forward to her showcasing her skills this season.”

Ariyah Harris (5-7, So.) played big minutes last year as a freshman and can score at will. She is also an excellent defender and often guards the opponent’s best player. Coaches are excited to see her development over the next few seasons. Hannah Woods (5-8, So.) will be handling the ball a lot this season and she will be expected to set the offense up in the halfcourt and control the tempo. “It is a lot to ask of a sophomore at the Class 5A level,” Kephart said. “But I know she can do it.”

Meg Walker (5-8, So.) tore her ACL last season but has made a full recovery and is healthy to begin the year. Walker always kept a positive attitude, still went to every game and practice, and now is back and ready to make an impact with a full year ahead of her.

Other players to look for include: Keirney Holthaus (5-6, So.), Vivivenne Albin (5-8, So.), Amiya Williams (5-9, So.), Olivia Fletcher (5-9, Jr.), Jaedyn Harvey (5-9, Jr.), Noel Mcroy (5-9, So.), and Rilee Kreutz (5-7, Jr.).
