Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by First National Bank & Trust Co.

Coach: Jace Johnson
2021-22 Record: 8-18

Second year head coach Jace Johnson is expecting a big season from the Lady Fightin’ Chicks after a year to learn her system. Chickasha returns their main core from a year ago along with several incoming freshmen with big upside that will be vying for key playing time.

Serenity Golightly (5-4, Jr.) averaged 13.0 points, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game a season ago and after a great offseason is looking to have an even better campaign this year.

“She has matured and is going to be a force handling the ball and scoring for us,” Johnson said. “She’s capable of scoring outside along with getting to the rim and creating shots for others.” Golightly has attracted the attention of college scouts and has been invited to several college Elite Camps.

Leighanne Eaton (5-10, Sr.) is a star on the softball diamond, and no slouch on the hardwood. Coaches say that she has the ability to play basketball at the next level but has already accepted a scholarship to play softball in college. She’ll bring her great athleticism and competitiveness to the team this year.

Kameron Crutchfield (5-8,Sr.) is a lockdown defender who has been working on expanding her range in the offseason. She looks to fill the increasingly important 3-and-D role. Mea Ginn (5-7, Fr.) was a big time scorer in junior high and can score from the outside or get to the rim. She has the opportunity to play significant minutes this year either off the bench or working her way into the starting lineup. Madison McDaniel (5-7, Jr.) shows up to the weight room, open gym, practice and works hard everyday. Coaches expect her to play a bigger role this year and should make a solid impact for the team on both ends of the floor.

Other players to look for include: Rylie Weber (5-4, Sr.), Justice Miracle (5-10, So.), Addison Ferguson (5-5, Fr.), Kayleigh Marney (5-6, Fr.), Ella Dungan (5-11, Fr.), Amiyah Haunpo (5-5, Fr.), Audri King (5-6, Fr.), Brooklyn Bingham (5-6, Fr.), Mykayla Shearer (5-5, Fr.), Emma Burton (5-2, Fr.), and Kyntil Willard (5-6, Fr.).
