Duncan Athlete Spotlight – Meg Walker – Presented by RE/MAX of Duncan

Meg Walker is a member of the Duncan Volleyball team and multi-sport athlete. As the volleyball season just came to a close Walker said that she had a lot of fun playing for the Lady Demons this season. Walker first started playing volleyball back in the seventh grade and has been enjoying the sport ever since.

Volleyball allows players is a game that allows players to grow and adapt over the course of their career, and that is what Walker got to experience this year as she played setter for the first time.

“I enjoy every part of the game,” Walker said. “I had a lot of fun being setter this year for the first time!”

Walker had a lot of great moments this year but said that an early trip to Broken Bow stood out as one of her favorites and was a time when the team was able to form a lot of fun memories.

“It was a great way to start off the season!” Walker said.

Walker often turns to her teammates for support and is always looking for ways to improve her game and is appreciative of the efforts her teammates put forward to help the team overall.

“Two role models I have in volleyball are Kyndle Ledford and Alexis Gigles,” Walker said. “Kyndle was one of the hardest working players and a great friend. Alexis worked with me a lot this summer on being a setter. They both mean a lot to me!”

Outside of volleyball Walker also excels in basketball and is looking forward to the upcoming season. In the spring she will be joining the golf team and is ready to hit the links. In the classroom Walker also always gives full effort and said that her favorite subject is science.

“I will possibly be looking into the medical field when I go to college,” Walker said.
