Bray-Doyle Softball Spotlight – Emalee Gill – Presented by Marcus McEntire

Representing a community and school is sometimes tough, but Bray-Doyle senior Emalee Gill has almost perfected the craft. Emalee is a senior and plays both slow-pitch softball and basketball for the Donkeys.

Emalee’s biggest motivation in life is her family, who always seem to push her towards her goals and dreams. “My biggest influence is my mom Alana,” said Gill. “She does everything for me and my siblings and I love and appreciate her selfless heart. My dad is also a role model for me, he taught me to never give up and to keep pushing no matter what happens.”

The highlight of Emalee’s career has been hitting a long home run during her sophomore year in districts. She also loves playing and beating Mill Creek when she gets the chance because they’re a rival and mostly know each other personally. Emalee really likes to work with her teammate Morgan Pass, who is the starting pitcher for Bray-Doyle.

“Morgan is so encouraging and is always there for the team,” Gill said. “She doesn’t get defeated when we’re down and tries to keep up the teams’ spirits.”

Other activities that Emalee is a part of are FCCLA and national honor society. Emalee loves to represent her community that her parents grew up in. Her goal is to make her family, team and community proud.

Emalee wants to send a big shout out to her coaches and her friends: “I want to say a big thank you to my coaches for never giving up on me and always being encouraging. Also, thank you to my mom for showing up to every game no matter what it took. I also want to thank Rivers Phillips for always being willing to go out and practice with me. Whether it’s going to the gym for a few hours and shooting around, hitting on a tee for hours, or going outside and playing catch. The support doesn’t go unnoticed and I am thankful for you!”
