QUICK HITS:

Anadarko opens the season at Lone Grove on August 26th. It’s the first game between the teams since 2011.

The Warriors are 3-0 all- time against the Long- horns. Anadarko and Metro Christian will play in the regular season for the first time ever. The Patriots won two of three quarterfinals matchups against the Warriors.

Anadarko defeated Metro 34-14 on the way to the 2011 Class 3A state title.

OFFENSE

With eight starters return- ing on both sides of the ball, Anadarko head coach Kent Jackson should feel confident that his Warriors can improve on last season. Offensively, Anadarko is led by their offensive line. VYPE Top 100 lineman Kenyon BigBow (6-5, 275, Sr.) is a stalwart on the Anadarko line. He’s a big guy that helps the Warrior’s offense control the line of scrimmage. He currently holds several scholarship offers and will have the opportunity to play football at the next level. Joining BigBow on the line is Davin Nuckols (6-3, 315, Jr.). Nuckols is another big lineman that has the size to play at the next level. Those two, along with the rest of the line, will look to open holes for running back Lu- cas Camp (5-10, 180, Sr.). Camp is a complete back that can run between the tackles, bounce it outside, and catch the ball out of the backfield. Taking over at quarterback is Terrance Johnson (6-0, 140, Jr.). In the passing game, Johnson will look for wide receiver Gavin Newton (5-11, 165, Sr.) and tight end Rayden Churchill (6-1, 190, Sr.).

DEFENSE

Defensively, Anadarko will look to be aggressive with their 4-4 defense. Up front, Jordan Redbird (6-2, 215, Sr.) and Churchill will look to control the line of scrimmage and make plays in the backfield. At linebacker, Maurince Hop- good (5-10, 190, Sr.) and Brayden Lemos (5-10, 205, Sr.) will lead a group of backers trying to get to the quarterback by disguising where pressure will come from. In the secondary, the Warriors will trust their DBs to play on an island and shut down the passing game. Leading the second- ary from the safety posi- tion is DayDay Lonewolf (5-9, 140, Sr.). At corner, Gavin Newton will look to shut down receivers and make things difficult in the pass game. Assist- ing Jackson is Shannon Watford, Colin Watford, Ray Headley, Matt Head- ley, Kevin Botone, Dakota Botone, Dakota Henry, and James Sutteer.
