OFFENSE

Entering his 14th season leading MacArthur, head coach Brett Manning has had some great teams, but he feels this year’s squad could be his best. Manning says his Highlanders have had their best offseason since he’s been head coach and he thinks this team can be great. Offensively, the Highlanders return five starters. The offense will use a spread base that will look to have balance in both the run and pass game. The goal of the MacArthur offense is to make the defense cover the whole field. Gage Graham returns at quarterback for the Highlanders. He’ll try to improve on his junior season when he led MacArthur to Class 5A semifinals. Jeramiah Jordan (6-1, 170, Sr.) is a long receiver that has track speed as well. Up front, guard Kareem Seigler (6-0, 255, Sr.) and VYPE Top 100 tackle Caden Tahbonemah (6-5, 280, Sr.) will look to provide protection in the pass game and open holes in the running game.

DEFENSE

Six starters return to a MacArthur defense that looks to be aggressive and sound. Alex Brice (5-10, 190, Sr.) will lead this defense from his linebacker position. Manning says Brice isn’t flashy, but he always makes the right play and is a hard worker. Brice led MacArthur in tackles last season. Joining Brice at linebacker is Fontane Mollett (6-2, 185, Sr.). Up front, Terrell Roberts (5-11, 220, Sr.) will look to create havoc in the backfield from his defensive end position. Xzavier Booth (5-10, 165, Jr.) and Dominic Collins (5-9, 155, Jr.) will look to shut down the passing game and improve on their impressive sophomore seasons. Assisting Manning this season are Mike Reffett, Michael Pooschke, Odell Gunter, Leo Holmes, Fiailoa, Phil Dennis, Jayden.
