OFFENSE
Last season was tough for the Alex Longhorns. But they are coming into the 2022 season with a new head coach that is ready to help turn around the program. “We believe in a disciplined program that centers itself around the weight room,” coach Jacob Otey said. “The goal is to create hard-working young men and that is what we are going to do here at Alex.” The Longhorns will be led by wide receiver Konner Shebester (Sr.). He has worked extremely hard in the offseason. The tight end position will be covered by two outstanding athletes, Kyler Boatright (Jr.) and Lynnden Mowdy (So.). Both are tough and strong competitors that will be key players for the Longhorns this season. On the offensive line, Xavier Matthews (Fr.) will play at guard and work to block and protect the quarterback.

DEFENSE

The Longhorn defense has some solid players that are ready to hit the field. Boatright and Matthews will both play at defensive end and work to get to the quarterback or whoever has the ball. Playing at linebacker, Mowdy will be there to contain the run and cover the pass if necessary. Shebester will play at safety on the defense and coaches are excited to watch him excel on both sides of the ball this season. Assistant coaches this season will be Ronnie Fulks, Kenny Deaton, and Mark Anderson.
