Elk City Fastpitch Softball Preview – Presented by Moxy Realty

In 2021 Elk City finished with a 29-8 record and just missed out on the playoffs. This fall they will look to make a run at the October tournament with lots of talent and experience across the board. “We will be returning all of our starters except for our pitcher,” head coach Kaleb Murray said. “We will be a talented and tough team with the ability to make the state tournament.” Ella Scottile (SS, So.) is returning at shortstop after a great freshman season. This year she will be the Elks leadoff hitter and look to get the team’s momentum going early. Coaches rave about Scottile’s unbeatable competitiveness and infectious energy. With only one year of high school experience Scottile is already turning heads in Elk City and coaches can’t wait to see how her game evolves.

Abby Robbins (C) has been a three-year starter at catcher and has caught every game for Elk City in that timespan. She has a great arm and has consistently been a huge threat behind the dish and is one of the best catchers around. Robbins has been a top three hitter for Elk City every year she has played, makes great contact with the ball, and consistently gets on base. Aubrie Pogue (P) brings a strong presence in the circle. She has a whole bag of tricks up her sleeve and can throw a variety of spins and speed to keep batters guessing. Murray speaks highly of Pogue’s control over her pitches. “She does a great job of hitting spots and staying low in the zone,” Murray said. Elk City expects Pogue to have a solid year in a more prominent role after graduating some players from last year’s class.

Rylee Wyatt (U) is another three-year starter for the Elks. Wyatt bats near the top of the lineup and can play just about anywhere on defense and makes her presence known. Wyatt has a high softball IQ and performs well under pressure and is the type of player any team would love to have. Hailey Bule (OF) is a starting outfielder and brings a left-handed presence to the box. Bule is as athletic as any player you’ll find in the state. She is a multi-sport athlete and a big-time basketball star that will continue her basketball career in college. Her speed and athleticism make her a threat running the diamond or tracking down deep shots in the outfield. Also look for Alyssa Brott to make contributions. Coaches say that Brott is a play-anywhere person and the team’s hype man.
